The white continent: Journey to Antarctica

Aboard the National Geographic Explorer, February 2019

In February of 2019, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Antarctica. Antarctica is a reminder to all of us that this world is not ours. We are only visitors here. It is one of the most pristine places left on earth, and also one of the areas most affected by climate change and other human activities like krill fishing. It’s heartbreaking that Antarctic marine areas are not fully protected under international law. I am inspired to create and share images to help showcase the importance of the work CCAMLR is doing to create marine protected areas in the Antarctic.
